Mother's Day

Mother's Day 2008--  My Maw Maw (Gloria Rayborn), me, Parker Ann, and my Mom (Jean Wilson)

Things I've learned from being Parker's mom:
  • You always have time to do the things that are important to you...  even when you don't think you do.
  • God is bigger than anything the world may tell us- doctors, professionals, coworkers, etc.  His opinion matters, and ultimately, He is in control.
  • Sometimes, routines are made to be broken.
  • Moms truly do have the hardest-and greatest- job in the world.
  • Sometimes you just have to ask for help.  It's not a sign of weakness.
  • m&m's CAN make life better! So can a cup of milk and a warm blanket.
  • The best foods are fried!
  • Messes are only temporary.
  • Nap time is a gift.
  • God's love for us truly is without any sort of stipulation or demand.  He loves us because we are His children. Even when we do things that are stupid and hurt His heart, He is still going to forgive us and love us simply because we are His.  Not because of anything we do or don't do.
  • ...and so much more.
Things I've learned from being Jean's daughter:
  • Love means sacrificing your own desires for others in your life.  But sacrifice isn't necessarily giving something up for nothing- it's giving something up for the greater good of those around you.
  • Sometimes, you've just gotta dance.
  • Laughter truly can be the best medicine.
  • Gentleness and kindness go a long way.
  • There is always joy in the morning!
  • When you truly love and follow Christ, your life becomes a reflection of His love to the people around you.
  • There is nothing you can't get through without your family and God.
  • Prayer works.
  • True love is selfless.
  • God's love for us truly is without any sort of stipulation or demand. He loves us because we are His children. Even when we do things that are stupid and hurt His heart, He is still going to forgive us and love us simply because we are His. Not because of anything we do or don't do.

I love this. I read it through twice. Thanks for sharing. Can I link this page from my blog? I think it would inspire/validate the rest of us trying to *rock* this whole motherhood thing. Happy Day, friend!
